The Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) President John Mahama has likened Nana Akufo-Addo to a dictator who cannot stand criticisms.
He warned voters that voting for the New Patriotic Party flagbearer will be dangerous for Ghana.
President John Mahama was speaking at a campaign rally in Bimbila in the Northern Region.
"It will be a very dangerous thing to hand power to a party that is not ready because the NPP party, as I tell you today, is divided into two,” he said.
He continued: “What we need in Ghana is an understanding President. The era of dictatorship is gone. We are not looking for dictator, somebody who can’t stand criticism. Within his own party, if you criticize him he will sack you. We are looking for a leader who can bring people together.”
This is not the first time President Mahama has meddled in the politics of the NPP. At a campaign launch in Cape Coast, he devoted a chunk of his speech talking about the divisions in the party.
