He said this is to give “voters the ample time to check their names and them help the EC to do a proper work so far as cleaning of the voter register is concerned.”

According to him, the Biometric verification devices as recommended by the Reforms Committee will be used to verify all applicants who come to check their names.

The Director of Electoral Services added that persons who used NHIS cards will have their names cancelled.

He stressed that officials are being trained on the processes involved for the exhibition exercise, adding that exhibition forms will be placed at all exhibition centres.

"Objection cases recorded during exhibition exercise are sent to the District registration review officer and these should be backed by facts, especially objection on deceased persons. Persons involved in all objection cases will appear before the district registration review officer and the voters involved shall be notified of the time, the venue and the date where the objection will take place for the determination of all objection cases," the Director of Electoral Services at the EC explained.
