Chaos at Ayawaso West Wuogon collation center

Fans of the NPP protested what they consider a conspiracy by the NDC to manipulate results from some polling stations

Confusion engulfed the collation center of the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency when an angry fan belonging to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) forcibly interrupted the operation of a projector that was displaying collated results of all polling stations.

This brought the process of vote collation to an abrupt halt, the center erupting in verbal exchanges between rival political fans.

Fans of the NPP accused polling officials of trying to manipulate some figures after they noticed a «sudden change» in the figures of some results of certain polling stations.

"We won't allow anyone to cheat us again. Last time they did the same and we had to go to the supreme court. This time we won't go to court, we will die here!» a fan exclaimed amid the confusion.

"We will not sleep. We will not lose guard. We will not allow anyone to fiddle with our numbers. Our eyes are wide open,» another said.

The EC officials at the center, which is at a school behind the Legon Police Station, were as at the time of this report having a stakeholder's meeting to resolve the situation.while the police controlled

The Police, meanwhile, cordoned off the main collation room as well as the area of the projector screen, while simultaneously taming a big crowd of flaring tempers.
