The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, said on Saturday that he would run a transparent and accountable government if elected into office in November.
Addressing party supporters at a fundraising event organised by the NPP in Kumasi, Nana Addo said his wife, Rebecca, would not be in charge of the distribution of contracts in his administration.

“My wife would not be in charge of the distribution of contracts in this country…she would never distribute contracts in the country…,” he said, adding: “I won’t operate a family and friends government in Ghana and I can assure that every person in the country would have his fair share of the national cake.

He called on members of the public to have confidence in him and entrust the nation’s resources into his hands for “efficient use”.
