The turn of the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party in the Evening Encounter under the auspices of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) scheduled for Tuesday, August 9 has been postponed.

Nana Akufo-Addo was initially scheduled to appear on Tuesday, July 5 as the third and final presidential candidate whose party has representative in Parliament, a statement said.

People’s National Convention’s Dr Edward Nasigre Mahama and Convention People’s Party’s Ivor Kobina Greenstreet have had their turn on the evening encounters.

The National Democratic Congress’ John Mahama would not take part as per an official decision by his party.

No reason has been given for the postponement of Nana Addo’s encounter.

The Evening Encounter provides an opportunity for presidential candidates of parties with Members of Parliament to open up on an abridged version of their manifestos.

A series for vice presidential candidates has also been scheduled while presidential candidates of parties with no representation in Parliament have their turn in a special event.
