Mahama Endorses 'Anti-Osafo-Marfo' Demonstration, Condemns Tribal Bigotry

The president denounced the tribal statement made by former finance minister, Mr Yaw Osafo Marfo

President John Mahama has denounced tribal statement made by former finance minister, Mr Yaw Osafo Marfo in a  leaked audio tape pitching southerners against northerners, saying the former have allowed the latter who have no resources to rule over them.

Addressing gallant men and women of Ghana paraded at the Independence square in Accra to mark Ghana’s 58th year anniversary, President Mahama stated that: “I was pleased with the show of unity by Ghanaians who took to the streets against ethnocentrism… We cannot sacrifice our ethnic diversity on the political altar.”

He said “I pledge to promote an atmosphere of political rapprochement and I hope all political leaders will do same.”
