Gambian president threatens to slit the throat of gay people

Yahya Jammeh has threatened to cut off the throat of gay in his country.

 

The Gambian president, Yahya Jammeh on a nationwide agricultural tour in Gambia intensified his anti – homosexual rhetoric, threatening to slit the throat of gay people in his country.

The 49-year-old President said, “if you are a man and want to marry another man in this country and we catch you, no one will ever set eyes on you again, and no white person can do anything about it.

Yahya Jammeh has ruled the Gambia since a military coup in 1994.

Earlier this year he said gay people are “vermin” and homosexuality is one of the greatest threats facing humanity.

President Jammeh has passed a new bill which calls for life imprisonment for people caught engaging in same sex sexuality activity.
