Mozambican murder suspects appear in court, case postponed till May

The men are expected to apply for bail when they return to court on 4th May.

Following the gruesome murder of Mozambican native, Emmanuel Sithole which was caught on camera and sparked ample outrage, the suspected murderers have made an appearance at the Alexandra Magistrate Court amidst heavy security presence.

Eye Witness News however reports that the case has been postponed to next month.

Three of the suspects had been arrested on Sunday, while the fourth was taken into custody last night (Monday).

The men - Mthinta Bhengu, Sifundo Mzimela, Sizwe Mngomezulu and Ayanda Sibiya are expected to apply for bail when they return to court on 4th May.

According to EWN, emotions ran high after the case was postponed with some of Sithole's family members breaking down in tears while angry community members vented their frustrations on media outside the court.

Regardless of the postponement, the National Prosecuting Authority says it's confident it has a strong case against the four accused.
