Speaking at this year’s May Day celebrations held at the Jubilee Park in Wa in the Upper West region, the Secretary General of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Kofi Asamoah said the recent trend in worker rights abuse demands investment in appropriate policies that will protect workers.
He urged the president to "Increase funding for the labour market institutions charged with the responsibility to secure the workplace and protect workers including the ministry of education and labour relations, the National Labour Commission, Labour department."
"Government must revamp its investment in social dialogue. This include the right to be consulted on any policy whether from government or the private employer that impact workers," the TUC boss added.
