Mahama in Durban to speak at World Economic Forum

Former President John Mahama has arrived in Durban, South Africa for the 27th World Economic Forum for Africa.

He will deliver an address on leadership at the summit today, May 3.

The meeting in Durban will review the developmental models of developed nations and use them as a basis of creating new models of growth.

This year’s theme is "Achieving Inclusive Growth through Responsive and Responsible Leadership".

More then 1,000 delegates from 100 countries are expected to attend the forum.

Mahama who is currently in Durban in a Facebook post said I "Will be sharing my vision & insights of leadership with selected top executives of Forum Members at 2pm GMT."

WEF Africa 2017 comes as host country South Africa faces sluggish economic growth, subdued investment and increasing fiscal and economic policy uncertainty amidst credit rating downgrades.

The issue of "inclusive growth" will dominate discussions as the International Monetary Fund forecasts for sub-Saharan African growth are at their lowest level for 20 years.
