Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Asokwa Constituency in Kumasi woke up Monday morning to the shocking spectacle of voodoo items placed right in front of the party’s office.

When party members got to the place early in the morning, the office had been locked up with padlocks whilst an egg and schnapps had been placed right in front of the door.

News of the strange items placed right in front of the party’s office spread like wild fire across the constituency and Kumasi in general, attracting scores of curious people to the scene.

The exact person or people who locked up the office and placed the voodoo items were not immediately known, paving way for people to speculate.

Most of the people present said a known aggrieved party member, whose name they were not ready to disclose, was behind the act.

According to them, the person behind the weird action was not happy about what is presently happening in the party at Asokwa so he decided to put up that spectacle to draw the attention of party hierarchy at the regional and national levels.

The items looked so scary that nobody dared to go near them. There were rumours that anybody that would touch the items or open the office might suffer a strange ailment or even die.

Some suggested that known powerful men of God in the city should be contacted so that they would pray over the items before the padlocks could be destroyed for party members to get access to the office.

Others were of the view that fetish priests or Mallams should be contacted so that they would perform some rituals so that the office could be opened without any repercussion(s).

Edmund Kyei, the Asokwa Constituency NPP Communications Director, sounded horrified when DAILY GUIDE contacted him. He said the constituency executives would meet over the disturbing issue on Monday evening.

He declined to give further details with regard to those who might have a hand in the issue, stating that the party would issue a release about the issue yesterday (Tuesday) morning after the party’s meeting on Monday evening.
