Afia Schwarzenegger accuses Jon Benjamin of racism

Controversial actress cum radio presenter, Afia Schwarzenegger, has accused the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, of racism.

She made the comments after three sitting MPs and a former one were accused of visa fraud by the British High Commission to Ghana.

“Hello Mr Jon Benjamin, the so called British High Commissioner. Why don’t you respect yourself? You have the character of disrespecting black leaders. I don’t know whether it’s racism or foolishness," she said.“I wonder why a respectable country like UK will send riffraff like you to represent their country. Mr. Ambassador you need to respect yourself… this nonsense must stop."

A leaked letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament by Jon Benjamin, accused three sitting MPs and a former one of visa fraud.

The MPs are Richard Acheampong, NDC MP for Bia East in the Western region (NDC), Joseph Benhazin Dahah, NPP MP for Ntotroso in the Bono Ahafo region, Johnson Kwaku Adu, NPP MP for Ahafo Ano South West in the Ashanti region and George Boakye, former MP for Asunafo South in the Bono Ahafo region.

They are accused of capitalising on their diplomatic passport to commit illegal immigration actions by helping relatives and associates to overstay in the UK.

Consequently, a 10-year travel ban to the UK has been slapped on them.
