'Galamsey man' dares Nana Addo on plans to clamp down illegal mining

The new Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr John Peter Amewu, has given a three-week ultimatum to all illegal miners to stop their activities or be prepared to face the full rigours of the law.

The galamsey menace continues to serve as a threat to water bodies, aquatic life and agriculture in the country.

However, several efforts by previous governments including setting up an inter-ministerial taskforce in the previous administration seem to have proved futile.

But in a response, a man who described himself as engaged in the illegal business dared government to reconsider its position.

He took the video from a mining site where he introduced himself as a resident of Accra, near American House in East Legon, and said he is popularly known as Bronxy One  (Bronxy Baako P3).

He claimed he owned the pit, which had several illegal miners operating at the time he shot the video.
