Obinim celebrating after he was acquitted and discharged

The founder of the Godsway International Ministry Bishop Daniel Obinim has been acquitted and discharged by an Accra High Court in an assault case against a radio panelist at Hot FM.

According to the presiding judge Justice Iddrisu Abdulai, the evidence by the state prosecution was not credible enough to implicate the religious leader.

Two associate pastors of Obinim - Kingsley Baah and Kofi Akwetey - had been freed on charges of conspiracy to assault, unlawful entry and assault.

After the court's ruling, Bishop Obinim and his wife Florence Obinim with some members of his church rejoiced to victory.

Bishop Obinim had told the court in his evidence that he compensated the panelists of Hot FM, who were at the studio when he and his boys stormed there in 2011.
