We want to see evidence of payment -UTAG

Show us the proof of the payments

The University Teachers Association of Ghana said they will not call of the strike until they see evidence to prove the payment of their book and research allowance.

This followed an assurance by the Ministry of Education that it has initiated procedures to ensure the release and payment of the book and research allowances for the 2014/2015 academic year.

This statement came a day after UTAG declared a strike

The ministry said it had assured UTAG and POTAG, in a meeting held in June this year of its readiness to pay the book and research allowance, but blamed the delay on a request made from the Ministry of Finance and  the Auditor-General to audit the claims of the Institutions within the tertiary sector for the payment of the allowances.
