Abudu Royals give government two weeks to renovate old Gbewa palace

"It is unfortunate that after all these assurances from the president and his minister nothing has been done."

The Abudu Royals in Dagbon have given government two weeks to renovate the old Gbewa palace in Yendi for the funeral of the late two overlords of Dagbon to be performed there.

The renovation of the old palace is in line with the road map for peace in Dagbon. At a news conference in Yendi , Abudu royals expressed their anger over government's slow pace at implementing the Asantehene led  three eminent chief's committee mediating the Dagbon Chieftancy dispute.

Spokesperson for the Abudu royal Dokorogu Alhassan asked the government to fulfill its promise within two weeks.

"As a matter of fact it was based on the assurance by the president through the regional minister of this government's commitment t to renovate the Gbewa palace that convinced the Abudu family to join our cousins from the Andani family for the Damba festival.

The Abudu family warned that they will not take any blame for any situation in Yendi if the "Asantehene committee and the president continue to follow the intransigent and and misguided council of the Kuga-Naa who has usurped the power reserved for the Gushegu Naa in the absence of a substantive Yaa Naa"
