Deputy Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa says the victory of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Francisca Oteng-Mensah has strengthened his faith that women can contribute the most to development.

The 22 year old second year law student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) beat incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Kofi Frempong by polling 321 votes as against his 202 in the just ended NPP’s Kwabre East constituency parliamentary primaries.

Commenting on the development in a tweet, Honourable Ablakwa said he was proud of Ms. Oteng-Mensah.
The NPP voted on Saturday, June 13, 2015 to elect parliamentary candidates in 245 constituencies for the 2016 elections.
Many sitting MPs lost their bids to contest in next year’s general elections.
