Fishermen across the coast of Ghana have called for the removal of Sherry Ayittey as the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

Sherry Ayittey, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture

Fishermen across the coastlines of Ghana are calling for the resignation of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Ms Sherry Ayittey.

The fishermen on Monday morning besieged the Ministry in protest against the dissolution of the Premix Committee.

According to the fishermen the Minister has been making unilateral decisions without consulting them and must resign.

They cited for instance the dissolution of the national premix committee and the attempted plan to dissolve the landing beach committee as an unacceptable development.
