Following robbery incidents at Amanfrom in the Ga South Municipality, the police has assured that security will be intensified in the area.

Residents at Amanfrom have fallen victims of robbery cases in the last few weeks with several reported injuries from the robberies, including a 15-year old girl who was stabbed.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Alhassan, who visited the area today said more policemen will be sent there next week to complement the efforts of the personnel there.

“We are here to educate the community on home and personal security. We are sending in community policing unit to also come and work with the community. It is a new developing area, houses are interspersed with bushes which must be cleared and of course, the roads are sometimes difficult to navigate and we need to recognise all these as contributing factors,” the IGP told the media.
