Muslim Clerics in Bawku have signed an agreement to produce the leaders of the mob which vandalized the Bawku police station last Saturday.

This was after a meeting between the Municipal Security Council of Bawku and the Muslim clerics popularly called "Mallams" in the municipality.

"They realized that the youth have misbehaved and promised to get us the ring leaders by Friday." Chief Superintendent Lovelace Kaledzi Tefutor told Pulse.com.gh

The meeting was to ascertain the motivation behind the attack on the Bawku police station by some angry youth and also seek the help of the community to arrest  the culprits.

The mob went to the station to demand the release of two Muslim clerics who had been invited by the police to answer questions on why under age children were being used to beg for alms.

They were released on the same day, but the police station was attacked the following day by the youth who insisted the two Muslim clerics were being held in police cells.

Chief Superintendent Tefutor said the municipal assembly has taken up the cost to repair the damage caused to the police station.
