The Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited has explained that the Chairperson of Electoral Commission, Mrs Charlotte Osei, has stopped being a director of the company as of the end of December 2015.
This follows calls by Pressure group, Progressive Nationalist Forum that the EC Chair should resign for allegedly holding another public office.

A statement signed by the leader of the Group, Richard Nyamah said "Mrs Charlotte Osei as the chairman of the electoral commission is also a board member of the Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited. Evidence we possess show that Mrs, Osei before her appointment as EC chair and since her appointment has remained a member of the board of the company.
But, the Secretary of Ghana Re, Madam Jessica Allotey, has told Accra-based Asempa FM, the arguments are baseless.
“I can confirm to you that as at 7th January that is today’s date she is no longer a member of Ghana Reinsurance board. As at December 2015, I can tell you that as at the end of December she was not a director of Ghana Re.”
Meanwhile, it has emerged that Madam Osei is still being shown as a board member on the company's website.
But, the secretary of the company said this is because their IT Manager is yet to update the website.
The Progressive Nationalist Forum had earlier stressed that Ms. Osei "should by 30 January, 2015 pay back all allowances received as board member of Ghana reinsurance or her salary and entitlements as chairman of the commission, which ever option she chooses to exercise from 1 July, 2015 till date."
"Failure to do any of the above, PNF will exercise all legal rights we have to ensure the right thing is done," the statement added.
