Police have arrested an 18-year old student footballer for allegedly raping a female new student in her hostel room.

Kevin Convery, an 18-year old student footballer, is accused of raping a female new student at Manhattan College after they met at an All-American Rejects concert.
Kevin Convery, who plays football at Bergen Catholic High School, is accused of raping a freshman at Manhattan College in the Bronx, 7 Online reports.
Authorities say Convery met his alleged victim at an All-American Rejects concert held at the school on the 25th of April and followed her to her room.
He then raped her.
A Manhattan College spokesperson said in a statement that the rape was reported on the same day the crime was allegedly committed.
"The incident was reported to the College the day it occurred," the statement read.
“The College provided immediate assistance to the student who made the report and provided assistance to the student's family.
"Our immediate concern in such instances is the health and safety of the student and we continue to cooperate fully with the New York Police Department."
Convery has been charged with 2 counts of rape, sexual abuse and sexual misconduct.
He was arraigned on Tuesday and released on bail to appear on the 23rd of June.
