Several members of the Black Stars could have had prior knowledge of selection for the World Cup according to revelations made in the Dzamefe report.

This was after the report found out that defender Samuel Inkoom, sought and was granted a loan of $70,000 in April of 2014 on the condition he would pay back from his appearance fee of $100,000 from the tournament two months before the final team for the tournament was named.

The final report of the Commission set up to investigate the circumstances that led to the exit of Ghana from the World Cup in Brazil last year and the accompanying  embarrassment after players went on strike over delayed payments of fees was made public this week after the release of a government  white paper with recommendations last week.

The Commission in it’s findings discovered that the final list of 23 players was released on May 31, 2014 before the team’s departure for a training tour of Holland and Miami in the U.S.A by then Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah after which agitations for an increase in appearance fee begun.

The Commission raised the question as to how Inkoom, then plying his trade with Platanias in Greece could have known he was going to be a part of the team .It also questioned his apparent foreknowledge of how much players  were going to be paid two months in advance to use as part of a security arrangement for the loan that was guaranteed bu team manger Shaban Quaye.

The Commission further concluded that there was the possibility of a concerted effort by some members of the Black Stars contingent to make sure an appearance fee of $100,000 was paid.
