A 33-year- old Woman from Elubo in the  Jomoro District of the Western Region was ordered by the Half Assini  Magistrate Court to sweep the premises for spitting.

Madam Attah who was standing trial at the Court, was waiting in  the Court room for her case to be called when the magistrate, Mr Abdul  Majid Illiasu, sighted her chewing gum.

When Mr Illisu asked her to stop chewing the gum she went out and  threw it very close to the court room, compelling the judge to ask  whether it was a dumping ground.

Although she apologised the Magistrate ordered her to sweep and urged  her to sensitise her peers at home not to litter indiscriminately since  it is an offence.
