Afoko, Agyepong missing at Mahama’s funeral

Reports suggest that some aggrieved youth of the party yesterday threatened mayhem if the two show up for the funeral

Information reaching pulse.com.gh indicates that the general secretary and the chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyepong and Paul Afoko respectively, are absent from the funeral rites of the Upper East Regional chairman who died on Thursday.

Reports suggest that some aggrieved youth of the party yesterday threatened mayhem if the two show up for the funeral.

The threat was issued when Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia led a delegation to the residence of the late regional chairman on Friday ahead of the funeral.

“We have given a list of some members of this family that we would not want to see them here tomorrow – It is not a mere saying. You are hearing people saying they don’t want to see the National Chairman and the General Secretary here. It is not a joke,” leader of the youth cautioned.

The irate youth believe Mr. Afoko and Mr. Agyepong are behind the acid attack on the Upper East Regional chairman, Alhaji Adams Mahama of the party which led to his death.
