Akufo-Addo has been advised not to chase every corruption allegation

According to the Executive Director of Policy think tank IMANI Africa, people will be making all manner of allegations against his appointees and investigating all of them may not be the best way to govern.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has been advised not to pursue every corruption claim made against his appointees.

Speaking on Citi FM's "The Big Issues" show Saturday, Franklin Cudjeo said:“…I also urge the President not to run after every allegation as well because he has promised that every allegation will be investigated.

"People could be making all manner of allegations anyway and that may not be the best way to manage things.”

He, however, said it is worrying if the corruption allegations are made by party faithfuls.

“If these kinds of things start from the party faithful, it is worrying enough so they should make sure these things are properly investigated and the persons who have been unfairly treated should also have their day in court or use other means to bring back their credibility.”

His comments follow corruption allegations made against the Minister of Communications Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, deputy chiefs of staff Francis Asenso-Boakye and Abu Jinapor by Kennedy Agyapong and musician Kwame A Plus.
