Popular serial caller of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Frank Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium has equated former President John Mahama to Jesus Christ, saying he will hurl insults at anybody who insults Mahama.
According to him, "Mahama is his second Jesus Christ" therefore Ghanaians must not insult him.

The police in the Ashanti region has arrested Appiah Stadium to substantiate his claims that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo smokes Indian hemp.
However, his declarations have been met with scorn by Ghanaians.
He has rendered an unqualified apology to the President.

The President in a press statement signed by the Information Minister Mustapha Hamid granted him bail.

In an interview on Accra FM, he thanked the leadership of the NDC for the support shown him during his arrest.
He said "President Mahama is my second Jesus Christ, anybody who will insult John Mahama, trust me, I will reply, I shall insult that person back," adding that "Let me add that I apologise to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the comments I made about him, I am deeply sorry because it is unbefitting for me to insult the President."
