I'm sorry - A-Plus apologises to Nana Addo

Controversial musician Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as Kwame A-Plus, has offered apologies to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over the way and manner he accused two Presidential Staffers of being corrupt.

The NPP sympathiser told Accra-based Joy FM that his words against the two deputy Chief of Staff, were inappropriate.

The musician has been in a war of words with two deputy Chief of Staff - Samuel Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso-Boakye.

He described the two government appointees as "very corrupt" and "stupid."

A-Plus in an interview on Joy FM apologised to the President Akufo-Addo as well as the two government appointees for using the "method I used to express my feelings. I think that it’s very wrong."

"I apologise to the President for using the method and language I used in expressing my feelings,” he rendered, adding that the reaction may be borne out of his high expectation for the President Akufo-Addo.

"My expectation of Nana Addo is just too high [and] sometimes I just jump the gun," he said.

He maintained that the corruption claim against the two Presidential Staffers still stands.

He added that "I apologise about how I put it, I have apologised to the people [two officials] but not the substance of the accusation… Not to the people I made the allegations against."

Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has invited A-Plus and the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyepong to substantiate claims of corruption at the Flagstaff House.

Communications Director at the Presidency Eugene Arhin said the CID has invited A-Plus adding that an invitation will be extended to Kennedy Agyapong soon.

He said the investigation is in line with President Akufo-Addo’s resolution to investigate every corruption allegation levelled against a government official.
