Oye Lithur engages in UN photo session

One of the pictures showed the Gender and Social Protection minister giving a speech to an empty general assembly.

Photos of Gender and Social Protection minister Nana Oye Lithur posing in an empty UN general assembly hall have emerged raising questions about the attitude of government officials when they travel out of the country.

One of the pictures showed Oye Lithur sitting in a seat meant for Ghana’s President John Mahama.

Another picture showed her giving a speech to an empty general assembly.

There have since been mixed reactions to this on social media.

While others think there is nothing wrong with a government official posing for pictures at a place where she never dreamt of being until she became a minister, others think there are more important things ministers can focus on rather than going on a photo shoot.

This brings to mind the backlash President Mahama received when he posed in front to Cable News Network, CNN.
