NPP Don’t Support Tribal Sentiments – Kwabena Agyapong

The NPP has declared that it does not support any tribal bigotry or ethnocentrism of any kind.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has distanced itself from the tribal comments allegedly made by one of its founding members and former Education Minister Yaw Osafo-Marfo in a leaked audio tape recording.

According to the General Secretary of the Party, Kwabena Agyepong, the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition does not support ethnocentrism or tribal bigotry of any kind.

“We, as a party, condemn all ethnocentric sentiments that are expressed because that is not mainstream NPP.

“Ethnocentrism is bad… We as a political party, everybody knows what we stand for …we don’t associate ourselves with those comments if they were made by whoever made them,” Agyepong told Citi FM Tuesday.

On the leaked tape, the former finance minister bemoaned why people from regions which do that possess the majority of the resources of the country are rather managing the affairs of the state.
