Eliasu Zakari and Justina Nhyiraba Gyasiwaa both admitted that they slept with each although only once, and asked that Ghanaians stop condemning Bishop Obinim's punishment meted out to them.
This is a request from the two teenagers Eliasu Zakaria, 16, and Justina Nyhiraba Gyasiwa, 14, who were flogged by Obinim.
In an interview with OBTV, they said those criticising Obinim for flogging them should stay out of the matter.
Justina Nyhiraba Gyasiwa said Obinim was only disciplining his children and did not see the need for Ghanaians attacking him.
“I don’t understand Ghanaians at all. If someone has his child and is disciplining him/her, why do you stand back and make foolish comments? He has his child and he has decided to punish the child in that manner.”
“Ghanaians wanted Obinim to reject me and deny me of all the help he is rendering to me. They wanted to hurt prophet with their aimed attack so he would give up on me,” she added
The teenagers who were flogged during a church service by Bishop Daniel Obinim for engaging in pre-marital sex have expressed gratitude to the controversial pastor for the punishment that was meted out to them.
The teenagers admitted their action was wrong and deserved to be punished.
"We admit that what we did was wrong and our father Obinim was right in disciplining us in the church. When we heard Ghanaians condemning the action of Bishop, we were very hurt because we came to the realisation that we did the wrong thing and he was right in correcting me. We were happy he corrected us by punishing us and we will not engage in such acts again. Comments by people condemning bishop will rather prevent him from catering for us,” Gyasiwaa said.
