Most websites in Ghana reported the victory of a 22 year old second year law student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Francisca Oteng-Mensah, over Honourable Kofi Frempong in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries held last Saturday.

Ms. Oteng-Mensah pulled 321 votes to unseat Kofi Frempong who had 187 in the Kwabre East Constituency.

Many sitting members of parliament of the opposition NPP lost their bids to contest in next year’s general elections.

The elections by an electoral college took place in some 245 constituencies.
