Mr. Ohene Ampomah said Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah is not fit to aspire as a parliamentary candidate in the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency.
The New Patriotic Party Constituency Chairman, Mr. Ohene Ampomah has stated that Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah is not qualified to run for parliament on the ticket of the NPP in Ofoase-Ayirebi, in the Eastern Region.
He said Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah must serve the party for two years before contesting the seat.
Mr. Ampomah added that, “You must have served the party in the Constituency for at least two years to run as an MP, but Kojo has served the party for less than a year and a half, so what is pushing him to stand as an MP in this constituency?”
Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah recently declared his intention to run in the NPP’s parliamentary primaries.
His confirmation comes after days of media speculations, fueled by his campaign posters on social media.
According to him, he has weighed the “potential risks and discomforts of political life” but upon “calls and encouragements to run”, he has come to the conclusion that he can help fix Ghana’s problems through politics.
