The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is urging President Mahama to begin the process of naming a running mate for the 2016 election before the close of the year. According to the executive an early naming of a running mate will help the party put into full motion their campaign to retain power at the beginning of 2016.

The Power Ministry has been explaining the reason behind the intensified load shedding. This comes after a statement from the Electricity Company of Ghana indicated that 530MW load is being shed today. The ministry said the current increase in the quantum of load shedding is a result of a shutdown of Ghana National Gas company limited (Ghana Gas) to enable the African Middle East Investment (AMERI) power plant to be connected unto the gas supply system of Ghana Gas.

The Ghana Football Association scored zero on all four main pillars of transparency and accountability in the latest Transparency International report on football associations. The release of the report is certain to increase public and government pressure on an association that has recently been criticized for its lack of transparency in usage of funds received from FIFA, the state as well as its own internally generated funds.

The Supreme Court judges sitting on the case in which embattled High court judge justice Paul Derry is seeking to stop the work of the Committee probing allegations of bribery and corruption against him, have reprimanded the lawyers at the Attorney General's office for the incessant delay in prosecuting their cases. According to the five panel of judges, the behavior by the officers at the AG's office is one which hampers justice delivery.
