Prez Appoints Kwasi Quartey As Secretary, Sawyerr As Policy Advisor

President John Mahama named Ambassador Thomas Kwasi Quartey as his new secretary and Dr. Valerie Sawyerr as policy advisor.

 

Ambassador Thomas Kwasi Quartey has been named the new Executive Secretary to the President and Dr. Valerie Sawyerr as Senior Policy Advisor to government and Head of the Presidential Delivery Unit.

Ambassador Quartey for now still remains Ghana's Deputy Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Minister.

In a statement signed by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, takes immediate effect.

The appointments follow the exit of Dr. Raymond Atugugba as Executive Secretary to the President, Douglas Prosper Bani as Chief of Staff and Ben Dotse Malor as Communications Advisor and Spokesperson to the at the flagstaff house.

In her new role, Dr. Sawyerr will be responsible for tracking the execution of all Government policies, projects and programmes.

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah explained that, “the newly created Presidential Delivery Unit will ensure the timely execution of projects envisaged by the President and Government.”

Dr. Sawyerr’s immediate task will monitor and evaluate the power sector.
