Supreme Court sets date for Montie FM case

The panellists, Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn,are being charged of contempt for threatening to kill supreme court judges over their ruling on the suit against the Electoral Commission over anomalies in the voters’ register.

The defendants have been asked by the Supreme Court to put up a defence as to why they should not be jailed for contempt of court.

The court describe their actions as amounting  to scandalizing the Supreme Court as well as defying and lowering the authority of the court.

Their comments have also brought the authority of the court into disrepute, the court’s letter said.

Earlier communication from the Supreme Court revealed that a warrant had been issued for the arrest of the accused; Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn, the panellists who allegedly threatened to “finish” the Supreme Court  judges if the judges  make any judgment against the Electoral Commission in the ongoing court case challenging the validity of the voters’ register.
