NPP chairman to be buried on Saturday

The late Mahama Adams will be buried on Saturday 23, May 2015 according to Muslim funeral tradition.

The Upper East region Regional Chairman, Mahama Adams who was killed in an acid attack will be buried on Saturday.

National Youth Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu disclosed that family members of Alhaji Mahama Adams would have buried him according to Muslim funeral tradition however, they need to wait for the flagbearer of the party, Nana Akufo Addo who will return to the country today.

Two unidentified men last night attacked the Upper East regional chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mahama Adama.

The chairman was returning from his construction site late in the night when the two unknown men stopped him.

Meanwhile, flabgearer of the party, Nana Akufo-Addo is expected back to Ghana from his trip in Germany due to the death of Mahama Adams.

Nana Addo in a statement Thursday said says the death of the party’s Upper East regional chairman breaks his heart.

According to Nana Akuffo Addo, the tragic death of Adams Mahama was shocking.

“I am heartbroken, we knew each other for a very long time.  He is a very good friend of mine and was a very strong aide to the late vice president Alhaji Aliu Mahama. It’s a sad day for the NPP”, he said.

Nana Addo has expressed his condolences to the wife and family of the deceased. He also called for calm in the NPP as the police do their investigations.

“I’m calling on Almighty to give them the strength to bear this terrible loss. To all my fellow members in NPP, it is time to stay calm and be in solidarity with each other. We don’t want anybody taking the law into their own hands and causing any kind of mess. Instead, be calm and responsible and see what happens”, he advised.
