The protesting nurses numbering about 200 have been picketing at the Ministry of Health in Accra since yesterday.

However, they were forcefully ejected from the Ministry's premises by the police yesterday evening. They claim they police used force and fired tear gas at them.

The nurses who completed their studies in 2016 say they have held several meetings with the Minister for health with a view to address their concerns but to no avail.

Narrating their clash with the police, the President of the unemployed nurses, Samuel Asante said, "They asked us to move and we told them that we are not moving until our concerns are addressed. And they sprayed teargas in the air to get us to move."

The nurses have threatened never to leave the Ministry till government employs them.
