Counsel for the accused pleaded for leniency with the court, hence avoiding a habeas corpus.
The court, presided over by Justice Aboagye Tandoh, said it was giving the prosecutor, Superintendent Kweku Bempah, the last opportunity to conclude his investigations on the matter to enable the court proceed on the merit of the case.
This was after counsels for the remaining suspects in the Kwabenya jailbreak saga applied for bail for their clients.
Counsel for the 4th accused person pleaded with the court that his client has a six-year-old son and therefore could not have been involved in the said crime.
Nancy Dentaah, the 4th accused, is an entrepreneur who is believed to have aided the other suspects to break away from jail.
Nancy’s counsel further pleaded with the court to grant her bail, since her son badly needs the presence of his mother.
The counsel said there was no way his client could run away from the charges leveled against her if she plans an escape when granted bail.
Counsel for the 10th and 12th accused persons also defended his clients, saying both were wrongfully arrested by the Police.
According to him, both of his clients are working with a leading supermarket in the country and cannot engage in such a crime.
