Rawlings' residence wall collapses as heavy rain troubles Accra

The heavy downpour on Friday that caused devastations in several parts of the country including the national capital, Accra has no respect for status.

The devastation extended to former Head of State, Jerry John Rawlings’ house as the walls of his Ridge Residence collapsed by the rain storm.

Reports by Accra-based FM suggest the collapsed wall resembled a deliberate demolition exercise carried out by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.

Reports further indicate that, there are at least four police officers at the residence, but the former President’s security detail declined to speak to the media about the state of affairs at the residence.
