17-year-old student laid to rest

The second-year female student died on Tuesday, December, 5, 2017 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) hospital in Kumasi.

A 17-year-old student at the Kumasi Academy Senior High School (KUMACA) who passed away following an outbreak of the Influenza H1N1 in the school has been laid to rest.

The victim, Clementina Kunadu was buried at Bremang in the Ashanti Region.

Friends and sympathizers including students and teachers of the deceased paid their last respect at Krofrom today, Tuesday, December 12, 2017, Abusua FM reports.

Meanwhile, the government last week presented an initial amount of GHC5,000 each to families of students who died at the Kumasi Academy Senior High School.

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia made the presentation on Friday evening when he met with the bereaved families and school authorities in Kumasi to express the government’s condolences.

He further indicated that the government will foot the hospital and funerals expenses of the deceased students.
