Pastor arrested in Volta Region for 'ritual' killing

The body of the deceased, who has been identified as Felix Banfo was found close to the home of the suspect without legs and other body parts, the police have said.

A 44-year-old pastor, Felix Banfo has been arrested by police at Denu in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region for allegedly murdering a 43-year old woman for rituals, mynewsgh.com reports.

The husband of the deceased, Kwablah Wohoyi a native of Klikkor – Agbozome said his wife called from Taifa Burkina in Accra that she was on her way to visit her pastor at Aflao on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

He, however, could not reach his wife on phone after several hours. He said the pastor was called but he denied ever seeing the woman.

The Denu police were alerted to the incident and the pastor was arrested.

The police on the following day, November 15, received information that a dead body has been dumped at an unnoticed corner at Mifetu Korpe/Viepe about 300 meters away from the pastor’s house.

When the police went to the scene with the complainant Kwabena Wohoyi and suspect Felix Banfo, they found a woman with her arms and legs chopped off.

The complainant and the suspect identified the deceased as Evelyn Homawu.

The decomposed body was deposited at Ketu South Municipal Hospital Aflao and will be transferred to Police Mortuary for an autopsy.
