Four Chinese arrested over Wassa Akropong shooting

Nana Boah, 29, was allegedly shot and killed over a misunderstanding resulting from a plumping service in which his plumber friend was demanding GHC150 for his job.

Four Chinese have been arrested in Wassa Akropong following a shooting incident, allegedly caused by a Chinese, that led to the death of a Ghanaian.

A misunderstanding ensued during which the Chinese shot Boah.

Violence erupted in the town on Friday shortly after the youth in the community heard of the shooting incident.

They vandalized properties, set on fire cars belong to the Chinese and allegedly attacked them, in a reprisal attack.

The four Chinese who were arrested by the police were named as Chu Chan Jun, 34, Li Ju, 33, Su Soglan, 46, and Jan Gi Hi 49.

They were taken to the Asankragwa Division for investigation.

The police say properties destroyed included a house, six burnt vehicles and five vandalized vehicles.
