There’s a petition to bring Beyoncé to Ghana, and you need to sign it

Call it the ultimate display of #BeyLove and you might not be wrong.

Beyonce and Jay Z

The Formation World Tour is the seventh concert tour by the American singer in support of her sixth studio album, and it seems to have most locations covered with 32 shows in North America and 17 in Europe, making a total of 49.

Love for the pop artist has been at an all-time high following the release of her latest visual album, “Lemonade”. And it seemed only fair that this petition would spring up at this time.

Started by one Newman Osei, the petition makes quite a compelling case; recalling Jay Z’s 2006 visit to Ghana; affirming how “…years have birth a generation who has grown up listening to this female legend empowered by the fact that she is black” and even lays out the extensive efforts the Ghanaian “BeyHive” puts into following the artiste.

According to the petition, Ghana feel(s) cheated when Beyoncé goes on tour and leaves Ghana out. The petition ends with a simple plea, “it would mean a lot if she could bring the Formation World Tour here.”

And it would seem this desire is not felt only by the poster, Newman Osei. As at the time of publication, the petition, which was started a week ago, has amassed 408 digital signatures, out of the 500 needed, and some of the supporter have left comments in the same direction and tone of Newman’s plea.

One Leslie Gawu-Mensah said “Having Beyoncé here will be powerful and inspirational”.

Another commenter, Xorla Awudi, said what everyone supporting the case wants to say, “I love Beyonce and I want a concert in Ghana”.

You can sign the petition here https://www.change.org/p/parkwood-entertaiment-ghana-wants-beyoncé, because to be part of history if it does end up bring Beyoncé to Ghana. If it doesn’t you’d rest knowing that you tried.
