A Political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Evans Aggrey Darko has urged President John Mahama to concentrate on delivering the promises he made to Ghanaians during the 2012 elections risk losing next year's election.

Accoding to him, President John Mahama must a cue from the defeat of Goodluck Jonathan and address the many concerns of Ghanaians.

He said the outcome of the Nigerian elections must serve as a great lesson to the President.

President Mahama’s administration needs to sit up or face a similar historic defeat. He said: “The lesson for us is that you can still be a sitting president, organize elections and lose it.”

“The lesson here is that you can still be a sitting president, organise elections and still lose the elections.

“So if there are concerns and people have genuine problems; like the power crisis we are facing and the many complains of corruption, the President must take them seriously and must not sweep them under the carpet,”he stated on Citi FM Wednesday.
