The Police have arrested four people in Oforikrom, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region for allegedly siphoning fuel when a petrol tanker overturned in the area Saturday.

Some passengers on board a commercial vehicle narrowly escaped death when a fuel tanker with registration number GM 6894-13 overturned at the Anloga Junction in Kumasi.

The incident happened around 7.00 am when the the driver in an attempt to negotiate a curve at the Anloga junction traffic light lost his balance.

The vehicle is reported to have been travelling from Tema in the Greater Accra region and heading towards the Northern region when the accident occured leading to the fuel being spilled on the ground.

The youth in the community, as well as taxi and trotro drivers are scooping the fuel from the ground in spite of the danger involved.
