Authorities at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA), effective Thursday September 8, 2016 will take legal action against those who mount illegal billboards and posters in the metropolis.

“The advertisers should make sure that they take off any of their dilapidated billboards. Individuals, organisations and institutions should begin removing their flags and posters together with any unlawful advertisement materials themselves,” he told TV3.

Mr Okumah Nyame stated that the bye-laws of the KMA enjoin advertisers to obtain permits from the assembly before erecting billboards and hoisting banners in the city.

He disclosed that the advertisers had flouted the directive from the assembly to create problems for road users, motorists and other people in the city.

He said the exercise formed part of measures instituted by the Assembly to address environmental challenges and related problems in the metropolis.
