Addison said he can beat incumbent MP Nii Armah Ashitey of the NDC.
Speaking in an interview with Citi FM, the lawyer who was the lead counsel for Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2012 election petition said the decision to go for the seat was not an easy one to take.
"You will not believe this but I have not discussed my candidature with Nana Akufo-Addo. I do not want his influence at this stage.
"I believe that I should, on my own steam, gauge the level of support for me. And at this stage I am fully satisfied with the kind of reaction I am receiving,"
"The last elections led to a petition and now we are going to have another election and there will be no petition. This time round the NPP has to win the elections.
The lawyer became popular during the 2012 election petition suit filed by Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey at the Supreme Court.
