Judge suffers stroke over Anas' investigation

"The process has begun, the investigation process has begun, the judges have been written to, and they attempted resignation."

 

One judge has suffered mild stroke and another hospitalized at Nyaho clinic after news of their involvement in a corruption scandal broke. This was revealed by legal practitioner Ace Annan Ankomah.

About 34 judges have been implicated in an undercover investigation by Ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The Judges from the High, Circuit and District courts have been filmed on camera taking monies in order to rule in favour of some suspected criminals.

Ace Ankoma speaking of Starr Fm revealed that, the Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood begun disciplinary actions against the judges immediately she received Anas's petition.

He added that the judges who have been implicated will have a hard time trying to escape this one.

"You can't escape this, if indeed there is evidence against you, you can't escape it. You resign from the judiciary if you like, you forget that you are also a lawyer, so you think you can avoid the judiciary investigation by retiring or resigning, even if that is effective you know that the general legal council can on the same evidence remove you from the role of a lawyer, call you to a hearing and what are you going to do resign as a lawyer." He said.
