Judicial Corruption Video premieres tonight after Justice Derry withdraws injunction suit

The public viewing of the video on the judicial corruption scandal can go ahead after lawyer for Justice Paul Derry withdrew the application for injunction against the viewing of the video.

 Justice Paul Derry, one of the High Court judges who were caught allegedly taking bribes in the latest corruption expose’  sued the investigative journalist over the act.

He is was seeking  17 reliefs from the Accra Fast Track High court. Among his prominent request is “A declaration that the 1st Defendant (Tiger Eye PI) obtained the contents of the audio-visual recording unlawfully.”

But in court today the lawyers for Justice Derry withdrew the case without giving reasons any reason.

This means the show which takes place tonight at the Conference Centre can go on uninterrupted.

The event which is strictly by invitation will show how many  judges , magistrates and some court and police officers sacrificed justice for their personal enrichment.

Meanwhile the court granted an application for substituted service filed by Justice Derry. Lawyers for Justice Derry were having a hard time serving Anas with the suit since his identify is unknown.

But the ruling of the court means that Anas will be deemed served once a notice is posted on the court's notice board and a letter of the service mailed to him.

There has been a lot of legal battle from some of the judges who do not plan to go down without fight since the corruption expose story broke.

The Chief Justice has promised to lawfully deal with anybody found culpable in the matter.

She has also indicated that the legacy of the Judiciary is wobbling as a result of this expose which goes int history as the biggest to hit the judiciary.

Meanwhile a High Court has adjourned the case challenging the legitimacy of the Chief Justice disciplinary committee looking in the mater to establish a prima facie case against the judges.
